The constructive technology of these reactive elements is simple.
Two armatures separated by a dielectric allow the migration of charges at certain frequencies.
The higher the capacity value, the lower the frequencies that pass.
How can the quality of the dielectric on the reproduced sound influence?
Electrically, there are two quantities to consider: the impulse response speed (dV / dt) and the dissipation factor DF (or delta tangent).
Polyester compared to polypropylene has values 10 times higher, so it is "slower", while an excellent electrolyte has values over 100 times greater, therefore "very slow".
This data is not absolute: many people like the sound of a vacuum tube because "softer", so "faster" does not mean better!
